Wanting an easy-to-play instrument? Have a look at the banjo. A banjo has five strings, but you only play on four. And you until your picking hand gets used to playing, you can play without chords etc.
Check this video as it describes the difference between a cheap and a quality banjo. Strings.
Shows how easy it can be to learn to play.
